It was kind of two people to bring cakes as it was my Birthday and everyone enjoyed having a slice. It was impossible to keep the candles lit even inside the cabin. You cannot beat home made cakes. Trophies and medals for best averages over the year were presented and we hope to have some photos on the website soon.
The shoot was very tricky as the wind got up and nearly blew everyone off their feet to start with and blew the clays all over the place but some quite good scores were put in 41 was top score and several people managed to get in to the thirties. Being our last shoot of the year Members had their usual free shoot but were encouraged to use some of the cash saved to buy raffle tickets. We have quite a few bottles, some Whisky, some Gin, white, red and rose wine. Skipton Guns donated two lovely china mugs with game birds on and we also have chocolates and a scarf. Do you need a haircut? we have a voucher for that and for your eyes to look glamorous for Christmas but think you perhaps would be better giving that voucher to your wife. You could win the butchers voucher instead. The draw will be after the shoot on the 7th January and you have till the end of February to collect your prize otherwise another ticket will be drawn. The winning numbers will be on this website and also kindly put on the Facebook page that is run by a member for the club.
Membership is due for renewal and still at the same price as are shooting costs. The membership is now open to non-certificate holders as well, also to juniors. Cartridge prices may change as the cost to us changes frequently. Our main aim is for you to enjoy your shooting with us. You are all covered by Insurance whilst shooting which is not the case at some shooting grounds and we have a Police Section 11/6 so that we can have both visitors and members who do not have a Shotgun Certificate.
Last but not least have a HAPPY CHRISTMAS and let us have a great year in 2024.
MARJORIE
