16th November 2025

16th November 2025.

I was so glad that so many of the members and visitors to the club turned out on such a cold day to give our traditional two-shot salute to a member, Colin Wheater, who died very suddenly, Colin was only in his mid sixties. The noise from so many was tremendous, thank you everyone.

Thank you to the member who took this photo, and printed ones will be given to Colin’s

family.

It was so busy I never got outside to shoot, and there was lots of discussion when shooters returned to the cabin about the setup. One difficult target was put down to the left-handed helper who set it up, but one of our left-handed shooters pointed out that it was good to have a target that suited left-handed shooters!

An experienced shooter explained how to tackle it very well to someone new to shooting and that seemed much appreciated. Once again, several people commented on how good the layout was.

Today was also our yearly Veteran Members Competition and the trophy will be awarded on the last day of this year as usual. The year-end trophies will also be given out on that day so you can have them in a prominent position so all your Christmas and New Year visitors will see them and know how good you are.

Our next two shoots are on the 7th and 21st December.

I was asked what the cost would be this coming year for Membership. All our prices will stay the Same. Membership for adults (which runs from January to December) stays at £40. Shoot costs will only rise if the price of cartridges/clays goes up.

Thank you again for the support for the tribute to Colin.

Marjorie

There were only two people who scored more than 30 on Sunday but I am told it was extremely windy. It is good I think to shoot sometimes in the rain or the wind, more of a challenge against the eleme
