15th  December 2024.

I have never known it to be so windy in all the time we have been at Foreside Top.  It blew notices down and even broke the Perspex cover of the notice board into two pieces.  Yet we had a record number of shooters and some brave people had a second round.  The trophies and medals were handed out but it was too wild to hold a camera in position so we will be taking some photos at the next shoot.  We do not have enough youngsters to have a junior competition but one youngster managed to win himself a medal and that was great.  Lovely to see his smile.  I had fallen on Friday so used that as my excuse to stay in the cabin, could not walk well without holding onto something in the wind. When it came to loading up the car at the end of the shoot I had to rely on someone else to fill it and it almost blew the boot shelf off as he opened the boot.  Good job there are two ties fastening it to the car or else some poor soul would have had to chase it down the field.   I had to leave it to its own devices until I got down to the bottom of the track before I could put it back in place so I could see in my rear view mirror. I hope for better weather in January.

It is time for you all to renew your membership, some already have and thank you to them.  We pay the rent in January for the year.  We also pay to Insure all our shooters, helpers and our tractor and other equipment so an expensive time for us.  At the end of the winter we will have to have the track repaired as well:  the other Thursday when we had such torrential rain it didn’t do it any good but my car managed it without a problem on Sunday and so did lots of others.

I wish everyone a Happy Christmas and good things to happen for you all next year, 2025.   See you all on the 5th January.
