How did it go at the Bronte Gathering?

We had a busy weekend again this year. 275 people shot, normally with people paying £10 for 10 shots but with some young ones doing 5 shots for a fiver but then pestering Mum and Dad for more cash and coming back for a second go.
Everyone was kept busy and thank you all who helped the event go so well. Some of you were there for the first time but hope you are coming again to help next year, we need plenty of people and only just had enough.
It looked absolutely crammed with things to see and stalls to visit, more than I can remember in past years, although of course we were kept busy and didn't have time to look around. The number of tractors was great.
The only downside to the event was locking the gate at 9.30am and not unlocking it till 5pm. Visitors could come and go as they pleased but not stall holders, tractor drivers, us etc.
On a personal note, I met a relative who I had not seen for several years which was lovely. He leads a very busy life. Then someone came to speak to me who has not seen me since his junior school days and will now be in his late 50’s. If you are all laughing, yes I know, I cannot remember who you all are on Sundays at the shoot when I have seen you a couple of weeks before. It was super to see him and we had a chat about all the people we could remember whose names have not had a mention in a long time.
A man came from Manorlands at the end of the day to thank the club for all it does for the hospice which was the first time other than sending letters to confirm they have got the cheques. That was very much appreciated.
Hope to see you all on Sunday.
