What a very busy day! We had lots of people new to shooting, so much so that we didn’t have enough club guns to go round so some folks had to wait. Thank you for being so patient but hope you enjoyed watching the others shoot till it was your turn.
One visitor had been once before and decided he would become a member, welcome to you.
We also had someone bring us 50 boxes of clays so they were to unload. The Alan Hayes Cup was presented to the winner of the competition held at our last shoot

and prizes went to the second and third.
Our helpers were busy showing folks how to shoot, manning the cabin, unloading clays, presenting the cup, taking photos, so they were all kept busy. Thank you goes to them. It was late when the helpers got chance to shoot.
It was quite windy so only two people got into the thirties. The learners must have found it quite difficult but they all said they had enjoyed it and would be back to have another go. Good to see some ladies wanting to take up the sport.
One small boy was sure that one of the clays he hit had been blown into shot by the wind and was not his skill at shooting. Another small boy, too small to shoot, kept me company in the cabin out of the wind and was very cheerful and well behaved. Hope
his Dad told Mum how good he had been when they got home. Altogether it was a very busy but very enjoyable day.
When we were clearing up at the end of the shoot we were surprised to see a family of four plus a dog walking about on the shoot ground, too far away for us to speak to. We have plenty of notices asking people to stay on the footpaths because of the shooting and that dogs are not allowed on at the request of the farmer but they obviously thought it did not apply to them !!!
