Another lovely sunny day yesterday and not a lot of wind. The rabbits came out but I was a miserable failure on those. Shooting clays like that on the ground instead of clays in the air made a change and some folks did really well on them. There was a lot of sitting out and watching while having a sandwich and a cuppa it was so pleasant. Some of you tried out the Fiocchi cartridges so let me know if you liked them or not. I shot some and found them OK. I usually shoot the 21g Eley's but always ready to try something new. Will be having a look at something different again for next shoot.

I went to the Bronte Gathering last weekend to see what it was like as when we are doing our "have a go" shoot there is never any time to look round. The terrier racing was so funny, the dogs who have never done it before had a wonderful time running round with their new found friends instead of racing and owners had difficulty in capturing them. I think everyone watching enjoyed that as much as the racing, The poor comentator had a hard time wondering how to narrate a non-race. I am not into horses but I was told they were very good. Not as many stalls as I expected and very spread out. Never did find The Yorkshire Gun Club stand. Two totally separate people stopped me to say they came each year just to have a go on the shoot and were very disappointed when we were not there. I said hopefully, we would be asked to return next year. The horses do not like loud noises and that was why we could not run the shoot in 2024.

Our next shoot is on the 2nd June and the one on the third Sunday is when we celebrate the Battle of Waterloo. Then on the last Sunday in June we will have an extra 50 clay shoot with profits going to Manorlands. We made £700 for them last time so let us try to get more this time.
