5th April 2026

You cannot beat Flying Black 9 for variation!

We have different “birds” on each stand, on Sunday we had wind, we had rain, we had snow, we had hail and then we had wonderful sun. We also had a lot

of laughing and we had one small boy with the biggest smile after being out in all the wind and weather, he hit his first clay. With 10 shots in a .410 and to do it in all that adversity was great and brave. He is keen to come again and have another try.

It is getting nearer to the Bronte Gathering which is the 9th and 10th of May and thank you to those who said they would come and help. We love plenty of folks around at this event as people who have never shot before need looking after and those waiting to shoot often have questions to ask. It was good to see some new members volunteering as well as the stalwarts from previous years.

Those of you who do not have a Shotgun Certificate are also needed, as there are plenty of important jobs for everyone. You can always mark cards, make sure spectators do not wander onto the shooting ground, talk to the public etc.

We managed to raise £2000 last year so let us hope we have good weather this year and raise even more. Our local Sue Ryder Hospice, Manorlands in Oxenhope, needs all the cash it can get.

Our next shoot will be on the 19 th April so hope to see you all there.

Marjorie

There were only two people who scored more than 30 on Sunday but I am told it was extremely windy. It is good I think to shoot sometimes in the rain or the wind, more of a challenge against the eleme
