How fast the year goes, August already. We had a really good day yesterday with plenty of members and quite a few visitors. We were not expecting any people new to shooting so the extra stand was not put up. It worked out OK though as some had come with friends who were members and they escorted them round and made sure they were safe and gave them some instruction. The others were given instruction by members who are always willing to help people who are new and don't know anyone.

The clay shooters have done well at the Olympics, one gold and one silver. It showed the clay broken by Amber on a play back but the referee marked it as a miss or else she would have been gold. It was great that her husband and baby were on TV as well. It showed a lot of anti shooters that we are just the same as everyone else, wives, husbands, daughters, sons, mums and dads. Some folks unfortunately think we are a breed apart. It also showed that it is not just men that go clay shooting, some people have been shocked when I have said my hobby is shooting and thought women would not be welcome. I was out shooting my round when a lot of new people had finished and were leaving for home so, sorry, didn't get chance to see how you had done but hope to see you at the next shoot and do get in touch if there is any information you need.
