We had thirteen people new to shooting, one or two had a go at the Bronte Vintage Gathering but had not held a shotgun before. One small boy didn't enjoy it much but the rest did. He might come again when he is a bit bigger.

It is good to see new young folks coming into shooting. I had had my cataract done in my "shooting eye" and the lights in the cabin hurt so that is why I was wearing sunglasses, not going gaga just yet and doing strange things. Some of the targets were hard and low but we didn't want them going over the wall and hitting a parked car or a walker on the track. The rabbit seemed popular but unfortunately I only bought enough clays at our last delivery to give it a few goes to see how it went with shooters and if our trap was OK with the different clays. Will stock up a bit next time we get a delivery. We try to put on a different set up each time for you. The brave folks stayed out in the rain which at times came down like stair rods and pretty hard at that. Other times the sun came out quite bright. Odd sort of weather. I have heard today that "a few days ago" there were cows let loose from the surrounding fields and they got onto the road. I hope no one left the gate open if it was Sunday the cows went for a stroll. The road through Denholme is going to be closed for the next six Sundays so if you usually come that way turn right at the top of Manywells by Coley Plant Nursery and turn left when you get to the Dog and Gun. You will then be back on the main road. It is a narrow road so take care. You can come through Oxenhope up to the Dog and Gun and go straight forward if that is better for you. Don't forget the shoot in aid of Manorlands on the 30th of this month, bring a small prize if you have anything but come along and take part. It will be our usual set up of 50 clays on 5 stands. I will send reminders nearer the date. Visitors are welcome and people new to shooting as well. Bacon butties, tea/coffee etc on as usual. Hope to see everyone there. Manorlands needs all the money it can get after missing out during the Pandemic.
