19th July 2026.

A good day yesterday with sunshine so we could sit out and have a coffee and chat.

We had two young boys who had been to the Bronte Gathering and wanted another go. We also had some people new to shooting come along which is always good to see. We need lots of young folks coming into the sport.

We also had some who had shot before but had never been to our club and

they are keen to come again because they felt it was friendly and we were all helpful. They unfortunately had not found that at some other clubs.

I am now, for the first time since I was 16 years old, and yes I was once 16, without a rifle or shotgun. I am still going to shoot but not have to climb in and out of the loft to get kit and guns out.

Because of this, I have loads of bits and pieces so if you see the red plastic box in the club house, help yourself to anything you find and put a little bit of a donation in the Sue Ryder Box.

I will be selling some things as well such as 20B snap caps, 12B semi auto flag to tell folks the shotgun is empty, shotgun and rifle slips, bench rest back bag, cleaning rods and things I have not yet found as I have loads of stuff in my loft as well as shoot stuff. Proceeds to Sue Ryder. I have given lots away already so ask soon if you want anything.

I feel sad to let everything go but my daughter does not shoot and I don’t want to leave her with problems as what to do with it all.

There were some good scores put it in as there was little wind. I think everyone enjoyed

themselves.
