What a great day we had today. sunshine, lots of shooters at the Trafalgar Day competition, and lots of folk new to shooting.
Thanks first. To Keith for the prizes he brought when the John Midgley Cup he presented in memory of his father John. When he found that the prize had been won by young Matthew Battersby, a junior who could not accept the alcohol prize, he produced cash and a tub of sweets for the lad. Thank you to a member for taking this photograph of the presentation for the website.

Thank you to the lads who helped fold all the tickets up as there were so many we were running out of time. Thank you also to the folks who asked if I was OK after my fall. It caused a great deal of good hearted laughter though, that I had fallen in a pub after my lunch and had only drunk an apple juice and coffee. Battered and bruised but nothing broken.
Thank you also to The staff in the George and Dragon at Apperly Bridge, who could not have been kinder.
Some people new to shooting came today. Among those were four brothers who came to have a rare get together, they had such a great time and they want to come again.
Our raffle in aid of Manorlands Hospice went down well and we only have two prizes left to be collected. The winning ticket numbers are 136 and 107 so if you have got one of those tickets you can collect your prize at the next shoot.
Everyone is of course waiting to see who won the Trafalgar Day shoot and no doubt I will be getting some phone calls wanting to hear the result. It is all a matter of chance as you do not know who the partner on your “ship” will be, good or bad shooter? I have prizes to give out next shoot for those winners as well.
