1st February 2026.

I wish I had been there on Sunday, there were so many good scores it must have been fairly easy shooting, which is always good news for me. The weather of course was good, no fog so that would be a bonus and cheer everyone up.

We had the Police visit on Monday morning to check that the club is run properly and that I keep you all safe as well as keeping all the paperwork up to date, for our exemption certificate, which allows non certificate holders to shoot.

Some shooters do not belong to BASC or similar organisations and do not insure themselves to shoot but we insure everyone on the ground.

I could not walk round the ground so took my binoculars for the police to use so they could see the boundaries and ask me questions. One of our helpers drove me up there and I didn’t need to get out of the car. I had copied everything I thought the Police would ask to look at so it all went very well.

Our lovely helper did a great job telling him what we did and didn’t do to make sure it all runs smoothly and that if a stranger came onto the ground just to spectate they also would be looked after. Showing new folks how to shoot was also discussed. We passed with flying colours with everything as we have in the past. Our new Certificate will be on it’s way now.
