2nd February 2025.

Another very cold day but not a lot of wind and then the sun did come out later. More people joined or wanted to renew their membership so another busy day. The end of year cup was presented on Sunday as the winner had been unable to come to the previous shoot. We didn't get any photos at the end of the year of medal winners so we hope to sort that out soon. We are looking out for a new notice board to replace the one that the wind blew off the cabin wall at the end of last year and broke both the frame and the perspex cover. A wild days shooting that was. Soon be Spring and hope for some better weather. Not sure what our Spring Competition will be this year, still having a think so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I like to make it so everyone has a chance to win and not the best shot to win everything. We have fun when it is the Waterloo and Trafalgar shoots and everyone seems to really enjoy those.

We have bought another 12 bore gun for club use as we are getting new folks wanting to take up the sport but who have not yet got their Shotgun Certificate. It was tried out by several regular shooters and they said it was a good purchase. It will be very useful when we do the Bronte Gathering in May. Anyone who can help there will be most welcome as there are lots of jobs to do. We get a lot of folks wanting to have a go and we have to be sure everyone is safe. We have had Mum's in the past wanting to stand in front of their children whilst they are shooting to take photos which we cannot of course allow them to do. People in the crowd waiting to shoot often have lots of questions so lots of things to think about.

We had a busy weekend again this year. 275 people shot, normally with people paying £10 for 10 shots but with some young ones doing 5 shots for a fiver but then pestering Mum and Dad for more cash an

We have just learned that the main gates will be closed to vehicles at 9.30 a.m. So, if you want to bring your vehicle up to the shoot, you must arrive before then.

Another day of high scores; is everyone improving their shooting or is it the better weather and us not wearing as many thick jumpers like we do in the winter time? Good to see one of our girl juniors
