5TH May 2024.

We have had the dreadful winter rain wetting us, we have had the mud clinging to our boots, we have had high winds trying to push us over and we still turn up to shoot. This Sunday we had sunshine in our eyes and did we enjoy it, yes we certainly did. We had a good turn out of both members and visitors, a group using the vouchers they got for Christmas who said they had enjoyed it. Over 50 including the helpers. We had a junior, aged about 12, who startled us all by coming second on the score sheet with 38 beating both his Dad and elder brother. Well done. We have some very talented juniors coming along. A man who had only been once before became a member so welcome to him. People now seem to be moving into the houses being built at the bottom of the track so I will be putting letters and shoot dates through their letter boxes so they can always come along and see what we do and perhaps even have a go.

I had a top up Covid jab (because I am so old) and this time had a bad reaction so thank you to the shooters who made sure I was OK during the week and looked after me on Sunday by taking a chair to each stand so I could sit down in comfort and have a rest. I felt much better for seeing you all and having some sun and fresh air. Not a good score but I enjoyed it.
