6th July 2025.

A showery day but good shooting. We got a new member and some new shooters came.

We were complimented on the helpful and friendly way we treat newcomers, taking them into a group to shoot round together and a cuppa and a chat. A real furry rabbit showed up for a look at us right in front of the guns. We of course let him get on with his travels unharmed. Perhaps he wanted to show us how real rabbits perform, not like our clay ones, although we do our best to make them run like real ones.

We didn't see the owl yesterday, which is unusual, I hope he is OK. There is a lot of wildlife to see when we are not shooting and not many walkers around, hares, curlews, lots of small song birds as well as the rabbits, and of course we see the pheasants quite a lot.

The first try at getting the track repaired fell through but we have got a new contractor and the work should be done in the next couple of weeks. No speeding up it though please as this scatters the materials we have to use which has to be left loose.
