I was asked yesterday to turn off the windmills on the moor, yes it was that windy ! There were still some good scores put in though, the highest was 44. We raffled off a donated bottle of whiskey which raised £42 and added that to the money we raised at the shoot the previous Sunday. That made a total of £700 to send to our local Sue Ryder Hospice, Manorlands, in Oxenhope. Thank you to everyone who helped raise this amount as we will not be at the Bronte Gathering this year because of the horses who are frightened of loud noises. We will be having another extra shoot like we always do in June for Manorlands. I was also asked, very carefully worded, if I had given up driving as my car has not been at the shoot the last couple of times. The answer is, I may be ancient but I still drive. I will be there at the next shoot but in a different car. My thanks to the helpers who have given me lifts to and from the ground complete with my muddy boots.
