YESTERDAY 20TH AUG 2023

We had 15 prizes to raffle that either were not collected at the Manorlands shoot or have been donated since. We made £87 for Manorlands to add to the cash made at the Manorlands shoot. That means we can send a cheque for £500.00. Thank you everyone who helped to raise this amount. We still have four raffle numbers left so have a look at your raffle tickets if you left early yesterday. The numbers are 223, 216, 202 and 187.

It was a good shoot yesterday and ten people managed a score or 30 or over. The weather was kind and we had a good turnout. I did wonder how many would be missing in order to watch the football but some that were missing said it was because of road closures. The road through Denholme and also Hebden Road so if you don't know the area very well you would struggle to find a way to get through. When I left the shoot to take the road away from Denholme towards the Dog and Gun, taking the sharp bend, there were 34 cars waiting to pull back onto the A629 main road. Trough lane was difficult as people were using it trying to miss Hebden Road and turn down into Oxenhope and others to get past the blockage in the middle of Denholme. We have done our six Sundays of road closures through Denholme so we should be OK from now on. Our next shoot is 3rd September so I hope to see you all then.

There were only two people who scored more than 30 on Sunday but I am told it was extremely windy. It is good I think to shoot sometimes in the rain or the wind, more of a challenge against the eleme
